Meet our Artists: Virginia Vovchuk

Virginia’s latest award was from the popular Southern AZ Watercolor Guild in Tucson, here with juror Tom Francesconi

Virginia Vovchuk has been a practicing artist for over 40 years, with the last ten in Tubac. Winner of numerous awards in plein air, mixed media/conceptual, and watercolor competitions, Virginia always brings a sense of purpose and pride of place to her work.

Trained in graphic design by her long-time employer, premier global design firm Landor & Associates, Virginia’s work expresses both the rigid discipline of that practice as well as the easy flow of life within the landscapes she loves.

Whether mountain or plain, beach or river, or her #1 passion: horses, Virginia’s inspiration is most often found in Tubac Village, while riding one of her mares or painting a street scene in the early morning hours.

As an active partner in Artsy Pets & Ponies, Virginia is an enthusiastic uniter and curator of other local artists we also exhibit, as well as a reliable source of information on local plein air plus all equestrian topics.
